Very well written! I ditto your sentiment. I always learn something coming to your well thought out website. Thank-YOU!

Ditto. I know the Constitution does not provide for foreign aid. I believe that aid should be given for humanitarian purposes, such as starvation in Africa, but that aid should come in the form of goods, not cash.

I can hardly beileve you beileve yourself in what you say. It is so not the way it is. We would Gladly give them a state of their own, the last thing we want is to rule them. The question is - Why did Arafat refused at Camp David? Maby they don't realy want a compromize? Maby they are so fanatic they won't stop killing of their own free will, not untill all the citizens of Israel is dead??

Careful here.
(1) The Palestinian diaspora following Al-Nakba (the catastrophe) does not approach the Holocaust. That doesn't make the one better or the other worse. It's just that there are differences (and some right-wing wacko is apt to shove that down your throat, whether you meant it or not - I've been there too many times).
(2) Sharon is, first and foremost, a pragmatist. Respect that the limits of his pragmatism are bounded by a dearth of human concern for anyone but Israelis; a common flaw of leaders, who don't care about those they don't consider their own people, but hardly an unforgivable flaw. By demonizing Sharon, you open the door not to a new Rabin (or other leader, take your pick, whom you believe motivated by justice). Rather, the door opens for a Netanyahu, a far worse threat.
(3) Stay awake - the taking back our country is a marathon and not a sprint. We've had a series of setbacks, but those who believe in justice, ultimately, will prevail.

Amy - oops, missed your comment. The VAST majority of U.S. foreign aid does come in the form of goods (or credits for purchase of goods) as you suggest. There's a clear reason why, too: giving wheat to starving Africans benefits those Africans and benefits farmers (or farm lobbies) in Kansas.

Israel is an exception, sort of, mostly because they don't need the products that we could export for public relations. What, send "wheat" to starving Israelis? Unnecessary. Better to give them cash.

Doing so also permits us to send F-15s to Israel without looking like an outright gift. If they buy them fair and square, we don't need to explain ourselves to the Saudis.

Yet we're only talking about $3 billion out of the $10 billion budget for foreign aid. Compared to the $2 trillion (ish) budget, this doesn't amount to much.

I suppose its absolutely inhumane of Israel ofcoursebut the pro-israel countries are by no means any less in thier inhumane spirits
I wonder if this is civilisation where still "might is right" when would the time come when we will again be brutes or savages as our ancestors were who were atleast not Hypocrats
